RUTH

Elimelech, a man from Bethlehem, went to live in the country of Moab. He took his wife Naomi and two sons with him. After Elimelech died, his two sons got married. One of the son's wives was named Ruth. Sadly, both of the sons died. Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem. Ruth went with her because she loved her mother-in-law.

After they got to Bethlehem, Ruth gleaned in Boaz's field. Gleaning is picking up the leftovers after the crop is picked. Boaz was one of her mother's relatives. Boaz noticed her and soon decided that he wanted to marry Ruth. They got married and had a son named Obed. Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of king David.
